Nature's Original Cleanser. Pure. Chemical-Free. Timeless.
Poochikai — known in Tamil as பூந்திக்கொட்டை and botanically classified as Sapindus emarginatus — is the traditional South Indian soapnut or soapberry. For centuries, Tamil households have used these small, dried berries as a completely natural alternative to soap and shampoo. Rich in natural saponins, Poochikai lathers gently in water and cleanses effectively without a single synthetic chemical.
It is one of the oldest and most trusted natural cleansers in the world — and Nattrinai brings it to you in its purest, most authentic form.
Why Poochikai?
- Natural and chemical-free cleanser — a pure and organic alternative to traditional soaps, free from harsh chemicals and artificial fragrances; cleanses skin and hair effectively without exposing them to harmful substances
- Rich in natural saponins — the active compounds in soapnuts create a gentle, effective lather that removes dirt, oil, and impurities naturally
- Gentle on skin — naturally hypoallergenic and pH-balanced, making it ideal for sensitive skin, children, and those with skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis
- Hair care — used as a natural shampoo to cleanse the scalp, reduce dandruff, prevent hair fall, and add natural shine without stripping natural oils
- Antibacterial & antifungal — natural saponins have proven antimicrobial properties that protect skin and scalp from infections
- Eco-friendly — 100% biodegradable, plastic-free, and safe for the environment
- Multi-purpose — used for body wash, hair wash, laundry, and household cleaning
How to Use
For hair and body wash: soak 4–5 Poochikai in warm water for 5–10 minutes until the water turns soapy. Use this liquid directly on hair and skin, massage gently, and rinse thoroughly. Alternatively, place the soaked nuts in a muslin cloth and use as a natural soap bar.
For laundry: place 5–6 nuts in a small cloth bag and add directly to the washing machine drum. One batch can be reused 2–3 times.
Store in a cool, dry place in an airtight container.
