Known as Foxtail Millet in English, Thinai is one of the oldest cultivated crops in Tamil Nadu, celebrated in ancient Sangam literature for its golden grains and life-sustaining properties. With a warm, nutty flavour and fine texture, it is a beloved grain in traditional South Indian cooking.
